Grave of Fireflies (Hotaru no Haka) is a classic film from Studio Ghibli which is certainly familiar to anime lovers. If all of this time the war is always juxtaposed with heroism and struggle, then this film is more touching the sentimental and humanitarian aspects.
Grave of Fireflies tells the condition of Japanese society towards the end of World War 2, where a boy named Seita, along with his sister Setsuka, did almost everything to survive. A young prince, Ashitaka, tried his best to protect his village. In his journey, he met San, a daughter who was raised by a creature in the forest who also tried hard to protect his forest from crimes committed by humans.
This film brings a message the importance of preserving the living nature is side by side with us, how we must maintain the relationship between the technology we have and nature in order to have a harmonious relationship.
The Wind Rises
The Wind Rises or better known as Kaze Tachinu is the last film made by Hayao Miyazaki. The film, which was released in 2013, tells the story of a man named Jirou Horikoshi who lives in a life full of dreams, which is a dream to fly and dream to bring the world in a better direction.
The film is based on the story of a real person, Jirou Horikoshi, who managed to build a Mitsubishi A6M Zero Fighter, a famous aircraft in Japanese aviation history. Although through various types of loss, calamity, romance, and war, Jirou always struggles to pursue his dream to be achieved.
